Hare stories

Sepia-toned illustration of a clever hare climbing a tall, sturdy ladder toward ripe baobab fruit, while a bruised hyena sits beside her collapsed, crooked ladder. The massive baobab tree towers in the background with wide branches and hanging pods. The savanna is framed by golden grass and acacia trees. A traditional folktale illustration in warm earthy tones shows two granaries side by side. The hare’s granary is solid and well-built, with sealed clay walls and a sloped roof. The hyena’s granary is flimsy, with gaps and green branches. Rain pours down, soaking the hyena’s grain as birds fly in to feast. The hare stands calmly beside his dry granary, while the hyena looks on in dismay. The background features a savanna landscape with rolling hills and a parchment-textured sky.
